Our schools are minimising the number of visitors they receive, as well as the amount of time visitors spend on the school premises, during the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. This will help to minimise group mixing and make it easier to maintain social distancing in school.
We expect all visitors to: 1. only visit the school premises if absolutely necessary. Please phone instead, request a call or request an online meeting if possible. 2. not enter the premises if you or any members of your household have symptoms of coronavirus. 3. clean your hands with alcohol gel (provided) when you enter and leave the building. 4. follow the same procedures as those in place for staff, ie social distancing (2m), avoid touching surfaces and do not enter areas of the school without the permission of staff.
Thank you for your support in keeping our pupils, staff and families safe.

Please have a look at our 'Welcome to Year 1' PowerPoint and 'Meet the Teachers' video.
Welcome to Oak Class
The Oak class teacher is Mrs Toogood and the teaching assistant is Mrs Brown.
Children start the day in Oak Class at 8.50am and finish at 3.10pm.
We are really excited about our current topic which is 'Toy Story Tales'.
We are encouraged to do our very best work at all times and we all enjoy a challenge!
Breakfast Club and After School Club
Breakfast Club and After School Club take place in a Year One bubble.
Breakfast Club takes place in Willow Class with Mrs Brown.
After School Club takes place in Cherry Class with Mrs Lambourne.
We love to share our news with you so please follow us on Twitter using the handle @OakWidey
We will not be using contact books at the present time so you may contact Mrs Toogood by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Children in Year 1 will still have access to Bug Club, teachers will check and update twice a week. Children are expected to read at least 2 books at week and answer the comprehension questions linked to the book. If you have school reading books at home please return them to your class teacher. Unfortunately we are unable to send reading books home at the moment.
Homework will be set weekly on the home learning section of the website. It will be updated on a Thursday and may require an email response to the class teacher by the following Monday.
PE and Games
The children have PE on Wednesday and Thursday. PE kits will be sent home weekly. As it is already quite chilly, we suggest that children have their long black trousers and black jackets as part of their kits. We are recommending that Year 1 children do not wear ties on PE days and they can come into school wearing a white polo shirt on those days.
