Welcome to the parents section of our website. Our purpose is to prepare children for a future that we cannot yet envisage. To this end, we provide a safe and happy yet challenging and aspirational learning environment and a curriculum which supports all children in develop ing high moral standards, ambition and an enjoyment of learning. The acquisition of basic skills is a platform for developing successful learners who are creative and independent. This will allow our children to apply themselves to whatever challenges the future has to bring, and equip them with a growing appreciation of the important part that they will play in the world around them

 

 

WIDEY COURT PRIMARY SCHOOL CURRICULUM STATEMENT

 

 Our Curriculum aims:

 

  •  to enable all young people to become successful learners who make progress and achieve  
  •  confident individuals who lead safe and healthy lives
  •  responsible citizens who make a positive contribution to society.                            

 

WE BELIEVE THAT OUR WHOLE SCHOOL CURRICULUM: ….should be balanced and broadly based to meet the different needs of the children across the school from Foundation to Year6 irrespective of gender, ability, ethnic or cultural origins.              

 

Our priority at Widey Court is to develop individuals who are prepared for life in the 21st Century through a curriculum that:

 

  • provides for the development of functional skills in literacy, numeracy and ICT together with personal, learning and thinking skills
  • ensures the acquisition of knowledge, skills and understanding which help them to make sense of the world
  • encourages personal development through the building of positive attitudes and disposition towards successful learning
  • evolves in response to future changes.
