Welcome to the Oak Class....
We are very excited for our Summer term learning! We are learning all about our local area in Summer 1 with the topic 'Widey woodland' and in Summer 2 we are travelling far a wide with the topic 'Summer Safari'.
We have been using the wonderful story of The Gruffalo to create our own stories with new settings and characters. We explored the setting of under the sea for our new setting and created our own sea monsters to replace the character of the Gruffalo.
We have also been learning about our local area by looking into the history of the Plymouth lighthouses and creating our own non-fiction historic leaflet.
In maths we have been looking into all forms our measure: time, capacity, money, length and weight. We have also begun our learning in fractions halves and quarters, leading into learning positional language: left, right, up, down and whole, half, quarter and three quarter turns.
