We strive to make the process seamless for families to receive school meals at Widey Court.

A significant part of school budget funding today is based on the number of children eligible for free school meals. For every child recorded as eligible for free school meals, the school receives some additional funding.

Despite the free school dinner offer (Universal Free School Meals) for the infant children, we still need to know if you think you are entitled in order to be able to claim vital pupil premium funding that could benefit your child in school.

Are you in receipt of any of the following?

  • Income support
  • Income based jobseekers allowance
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • Child tax credit most recent award notice – with no working tax credit AND annual income not exceeding £16,190
  • Guarantee element of state pension credit
  • Income related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act.

If so, not only are you entitled to free school meals for your child but this can also unlock important funding for the school.
